Your Best Daily Skincare Routine – 12 Valuable Tips

Daytime Best Skincare Routine:

1. Wash your face 

After a (hopefully) long nights’ sleep, you may find yourself waking up in a groggy stupor as you shuffle to the bathroom. This is wonderful because now you are one step closer to washing away the sweat, grime, sleep and drool from the (again, hopefully) 8-hour rest you just awakened from!  

We lose up to 340 calories per night due to sweating and breathing, so it is best to wipe your face clean before you walk out the door. 

2. Cleanser 

What water can’t wash away, cleansers can! Using a cleanser helps to remove the build-up of oils and dirt or left over make-up from the previous day.  

By wiping the excess oils away, your skin is now set-up to absorb the rest of your skincare routine without rubbing the dirt into your pores.

3. Toner

4. Moisturiser or Day Cream

5. Sun cream 

Although a dose of vitamin D from sunshine is healthy for us, the ultraviolet rays that the sun gives off are not. These rays can give you skin cancer regardless of age, gender or race.  

Nothing can be more damaging to your skin than the sun, so before you put on any makeup, make sure your skin is primed with a layer of sun cream, to prevent burns and premature ageing. You need to look out for two things: SPF and UVA. 

If it takes you a long time to be burned by the sun you can go for a lower SPF (e.g. SPF 10) and if it takes you no time at all choose a higher SPF (e.g. SPF 50). Remember to apply your sun cream half an hour before you go out and regularly apply it to your skin to make sure it works.  

Make sure that you choose a sun lotion that has a high UVA rating (usually stars rated 0 to 5) as these rays accelerate signs of ageing and wrinkles.  

Night Time Best Skincare Routine

1. Remove make-up

If you wear makeup, take off as much as you can with a wipe or cream before you go to bed because the build-up of products will clog your skin up leaving you with dirty and oily pores and dry elsewhere – not a good look!

2. Wash your face
